Sleds have come a long way from that old Flexible Flyer sitting in your parent’s garage. Relive the adrenaline of your youth with a serious sled designed for adults, the Hammerhead Pro.
Unlike the heavy wooden Flyers, the Hammerhead is made of a light aluminum frame, steel leaf-spring steering mechanisms, polyethylene rear skies and polycarbonate front skis, all weighing in at just 10.2 pounds yet capable of handling up to 200 pounds. Those old Flyers would also tend to sink in the snow, but the Hammerhead is perfect for hard-packed ice and fresh powder alike.
The quality of a sled is determined by two factors, speed and handling, and the Hammerhead excels in both aspects. Riders can sit feet first or on their stomach, and operate the sled’s steering mechanism by grabbing the rubber grips on the handlebars. The spring allows for up to 60 degrees of turning, while the skis are built to pivot and absorb shock. The durable AirTastic seat, made out of the material used in bucket seats for sports cars, is designed to keep riders in place but also comfortable.
