The Mile High City is one of the fastest growing in the United States. Legalizing marijuana definitely helped that cause, but the city of Denver has so much more to offer. Known as one of the fittest states in the United States, Colorado loves to show its visitors and its residents a good experience, and the bar scene is a reflection. Here are three must-see bars in Denver:
Punch Bowl Social
This is probably one of the biggest bars you’ll ever walk into on a street known for it’s old-town vibe. It was formerly a Big Lot’s warehouse turned into a vision for every great bar you’ve ever been to in one place. The upstairs has a room full of old-school arcade games and ping-pong tables overlooking a bowling alley and a giant circle bar. Inside the restaurant, there’s life-size shuffleboard, foosball tables and corn hole. The front of the bar doubles as a restaurant with a lounge area and dartboards. It’s a warehouse party everyone is invited to.
Williams & Graham
If you’re one for a low-key speakeasy and hand-crafted cocktail, Williams & Graham is your place to go in Denver. When you walk in, it’ll look as if you’re in a library, but a bookshelf in the back doubles as a door to some of the smoothest cocktails the Rocky Mountains can bring you.
Nob Hill Inn
To go the almost complete opposite direction, this dive bar has seen Denver’s longest street, Colfax, through its good times and bad, and there was a lot of bad. An experience is always a promise at one of Denver’s oldest and most-loved dive bars. The only thing on the menu is frozen pizza. You’ll have to be okay with that.
