The Super Bowl is one of the biggest televised events broadcast in the United States. Fans buy brand-new, big-screen televisions to watch the game or spend thousands of dollars buying tickets to attend the game. Opt to host a get together on your own turf by following our tips for throwing the best Super Bowl party.
- Tailor the party to the teams and prepare dishes inspired by the teams’ cities and/or states. If you’re a big fan of one of the competing teams, deck out your home in its colors with plates, napkins or even food. Otherwise, use a mix of the colors of both teams.
- Plan ahead. Place your order for wings, sandwich trays and other snacks well in advance. Many restaurants won’t fulfill orders placed on the day of the game.
- Know your guests. If you’re inviting die-hard football fans, keep the extras to a minimum. Stick with good food, cold beer and football.
- Have some alternative activities planned for bored guests. It’s likely at least a few people at the party won’t be huge fans, and are just attending to spend time with family or friends. Keep the snacks and drinks in the kitchen, away from the game, so they can congregate there. If you have multiple television sets, turn on a movie in another room. Weather permitting, set up chairs and some drinks outside for a break from the noise of the game.
- Make it a competition. To liven up the party, put together a brief — or lengthy, if you have competitive friends — betting game. You can include questions ranging from which team wins the coin toss, to which songs the half-time performer sings. Each competitor can throw in a few dollars into a pot the winner takes home, or you can buy a small gift for the grand prize.

Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska spans more than 6 million acres; however, most visitors only see a fraction of the park. This is partially due to the park’s many remote areas, but also, more recently, because of a landslide that rendered one of the park’s main thoroughfares completely inaccessible, indefinitely.
