Portland, Ore., is a street food wonderland, with food cart or truck pods that serve up quick meals all across the city. And in many cases, these meals are among the best to be had in the entire city, even when you include traditional brick-and-mortar restaurants. They’re spread all across the city, so no matter where you’re headed in PDX, there’s a food cart with your name on it.
Among the best are Bing Mi, which serves Chinese crepes called jian bing filled with tasty elements like egg, black bean sauce and chile paste, herbs, pickled vegetables and more.
British-themed Kingsland Kitchen brings English favorites with sandwich-centric twists. There’s the full English breakfast on a bun for starters, plus several others. A few items stray from the theme slightly, but it’s all good here — you can’t go wrong no matter what you pick.
Perfect for a damp, chilly day, Umai Ramen Cart serves some of the best ramen in Portland — and that’s impressive considering the small space they’re using to slow cook the pork broth and craft the noodle bowls.
There are legions more — and the collection grows constantly. For a complete set of food carts and pods in Portland, head here.
