Top 5 / Latin America

The capital of Uruguay has an abundance of beautiful beaches, so it’s difficult choosing the best ones. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t give it a try!

Pocitos Beach

Pocitos is the most densely populated neighbor in all of Montevideo, so if you’re a fan of being in the thick of things, this is the beach for you. There’s a wonderful lighthouse to visit, along with plentiful shops and restaurants to dine at while you take in the waves.

Malvin Beach

Malvin is a bit of an “in-between,” as in provides the perfect amount of both peace and quiet and city life to keep most people happy. There are plenty of restaurants and shops lining the shores, but not so many you’ll feel distracted by all the hustle and bustle.

Ramirez Beach

What makes Ramirez special is it’s prime location — not only central to the city, but right in front of the beloved Parque Rodo amusement park. Once you get tired of the sand, just hop on over for a ride on the Ferris wheel.

Honda Beach

One of the furthest beaches away from the center of the city, Honda Beach is the best destination when you need a break from the excitement. Its clean, pristine sands are far enough away from the revelry you might feel like you’re not even in the city at all.

Buceo Beach

It doesn’t get much more picturesque than Buceo Beach. The area is popular among water sports enthusiasts, but you’ll also find many families relaxing along the rows of yachts and boats lining the shore.
