The quaint seaside town of Broadstairs sits on the southern coast of England and attracts a trendy crowd of visitors.
Start your day the right way with breakfast at Beaches Café Bar. The menu offers a selection of traditional favorites, although the breakfast burrito is the most popular choice among punters ($9 with coffee).
Stroll along the seafront and marvel at the views over the English Channel, before stopping in at the Dickens House Museum. Visitors can find out about the connection between Broadstairs and one of England’s most famous novelists, Charles Dickens ($5 entry).
If the weather is good visit the Broadstairs Sailing Club, or relax on one of the stretches of sand. For lunch, head to The Tartar Frigate, a gastropub on the harbour. There is nowhere better to indulge in some fresh seafood ($22 with a drink).
In the afternoon, get competitive at the mini-golf course ($8) and stop in at The Little Art Gallery to pick up a souvenir. When you’re hungry again, check out the Albarino Tapas restaurant and feast on a selection of small plates from Spanish cuisine ($30 with wine).
If you want to keep the candle burning, there are a number of bars to choose from. One of the most unique is The Chapel, which serves drinks in a second-hand book and record store ($6.50 a drink).
