Lovers of all things literary can find solace in a new hotel that caters to those who long to get lost in the pages. In Tokyo, Japan, a hotel called Book and Bed has opened its doors and welcomes travelers to a world of literary adventure and endless bedtime stories.
Book and Bed, which considers itself an ¨accommodation bookstore¨ can only accommodate 12 guests at a time into sleeping areas distributed into compartments. Essentially bookshelves, these compartments measure 7 feet by 4 feet and are equipped with one bed per compartment, allowing guests to rest between reads.
Guests can enjoy free WiFi, shared bathrooms and a selection of more than 1,700 books in both English and Japanese. With plans to expand to eventually hold up more than 3,000 tomes, the Tokyo hotel hopes to grow and attract readers of all interests. Bed rates start at approximately $25 and go up depending on the size of the bed and whether the stay is on a weeknight or a weekend.
Known as one of the best cities for book lovers, Tokyo´s Book and Bed is located near the city´s tourist attractions as well, in case readers care to leave the all-night library to explore the streets of Japan.
