If your feet get tired after checking out the National Mall, the free zoo, memorials, monuments and museums, hop on the DC Circulator Bus which travels from Union Station and the National Gallery of Art to the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials for $1. Every trip for the first two hours after your purchase is free, so it is easy to spend a lot of time and little money checking out the must-see historical spots of Washington, D.C.
For $9 a person, go ice skating at the rink in Canal Park, or two-for-one on Tuesdays. With a full day of sightseeing, skating and exploring for almost free, food and shopping can be found on every corner, so go nuts!
