Online retail giant Amazon continues to branch out into new fields with its first foray into street art.

The company presented a series of limited-edition prints as part of the Amazon Street Art Project curated by Vandalog, a renowned street art blog. The collection includes prints of works by famous street artists as well as the next generation of talent.

Works from Ron English, stikman, Logan Hicks, Faith 47, AIKO, Gaia and Ganzeer are available, each of which are hand-signed and numbered. The involvement of Amazon shows the company’s interest in new creative fields, and also shows how street artists are increasingly accepted as part of the creative establishment after spending years as outsiders.

Street artists had been viewed with suspicion by art dealers and collectors due to the legal questions surrounding their work and its similarity to graffiti, but now they are sought after collaborators with consumer, sports and luxury brands. Amazon was offering 50 of each print for sale between $200 and $550 in December.

For those interested in finding out more about street art, Vandalog has become a point of reference in the field. It is an interesting read, offering opinion and criticism of street artists from around the world. While many people think of graffiti pieces by artists such as Banksy, street art can in fact come from a huge range of mediums.

Amazon is doing its best to promote street art and the artists responsible for a growing field, while also promoting the art section of its website.
