Planning an amazing spring break experience with your best friends doesn’t have to break the bank. GOBankingRates.com put together a list of all the best budget-friendly spring break destinations, so you know where to get the most bang for your buck. Here are their top five recommendations.
Tampa was the first choice and you probably won’t be surprised it’s one of three Florida destinations in the top five. Florida has always been one of the most affordable and popular destinations for spring breakers.
A destination you may not be expecting, though, is Portland. It can definitely be a good option for those living in the Midwest, who can’t simply trade off driving shifts with their roommates like many college students on the east coast, in order to drive to the Sunshine State in one overnight haul, thereby saving the price of airfare.
Hollywood is the number three, but not the Hollywood you’re hoping for. Hollywood, Fla., has plenty of its own perks, however. With pristine beaches, a fun nightlife and a location near (but not as expensive as) Miami, you’ll never know what you’re missing.
Hilton Head may be more surprising to see on this list than Portland, but it’s true. This South Carolina island that’s been a destination for country club families from the South for decades offers affordable vacation rentals for sorority girls and fraternity guys as well, even when they’re not traveling with Mom and Dad.
Lastly, you’ve got Orlando. If you’re not out to visit the parks, you’ll still find plenty to keep you occupied, though you won’t be within walking distance to the beach. Be prepared to get out and about. Without a beach to lie on, you’ll have to work for your entertainment.
