Ultimately, this phrase is at the heart of Leave No Trace, an environmental movement aiming to preserve the beauty of natural areas while still allowing humans to enjoy and appreciate them. This movement has seven key tenants, all of which are crucial to maintaining environmental and social integrity.

5. Minimize campfire impacts in order to prevent forest fires. Never operate a fire under the influence, and do not leave campfires unattended, even for a minute.
6. Respect wildlife. They were here long before you, and will be there long after you leave. It may be your vacation, but it is their home.
