Christmas will soon be upon us and arrangements are being made for some spectacular events around the world.
One of those is the ice sculpture park in Bruges, which has delighted visitors for years. This year, the festival will run from through Jan. 8, 2017, with 300 tons of ice and 400 tons of snowflakes used to create some truly amazing sculptures.
Entry to the sculpture park costs €8 and warm clothes are highly recommended. The tent is maintained at a chilly -5 degrees Celsius, so make sure you wrap up warm. The event is one of the top ice sculpture festivals in Europe, and draws visitors from across the continent.
It is advised to book ahead and avoid peak times, because queues can develop. The city of Bruges is also a fantastic destination. It has long enchanted visitors with its picturesque streets and friendly atmosphere, so the ice sculpture park provides the perfect excuse to book a trip in the next few months.
Bruges also plays host to a spectacular Christmas market, where Belgium’s famous chocolate is on sale everywhere. Pick up some sweet treats for Christmas presents, or indulge with chocolate, traditional cheese or waffles.
With plenty going on across Europe at Christmas time, Bruges still manages to stand out from the crowd. The city is easily accessible by Eurostar from London and Paris.
