Headed to Tennessee this month? Nearly every corner of the state offers fun events and festivals, with activities and themes sure to suit all, whether you want to still savor the last days of summer or you’re ready to get into the fall spirit.
In Spencer, Tennessee, (in the more or less eastern part of the state and about directly in the middle of the triangle formed by Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville), celebrate Tennessee’s folk heritage and history with music, crafts and pioneer demonstrations, Sept. 6–8. The best part? Attendance is free!
During the same timeframe, Sept. 7–8, World’s Fair Park in Knoxville hosts the Knoxville Asian Festival, which features cultural exhibits, performances and cuisine highlighting a range of countries, from India to Korea, Thailand to Japan.
Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion
If you’re always a fan of a good music fest, make tracks for Bristol to enjoy the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, Sept. 13–15. Experience the birthplace of country music and the genre’s Appalachian heritage.
Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival
Another can’t-miss music fest, this one takes place Sept. 28–29 in Franklin, a charming city just outside of Nashville. Headliners include Dave Mattthews Band and Need to Breathe.
