When you hear “festival in Germany,” you will likely think of Oktoberfest. The European country, however, hosts many festivals throughout the year beyond the iconic beer-centric celebration. Check out these festivals taking place in Germany this summer and fall.

The second-largest folk festival in Germany is held in Stuttgart. Celebrating its 177th year, this folk festival features amusement rides, live music and traditional Swabian cuisine. The festival takes place Sept. 27–Oct. 13.
First held in 1035, the oldest fair in Germany takes place Oct. 18–Nov. 3 this year. The free event features rides, games, performers and a popular parade.
