It’s difficult to conceptualize a more romantic honeymoon destination than Italy. Copious wine, succulent pasta and amorous art contribute to a fairytale trip with your new love.

Begin by walking hand-in-hand through the streets of Rome, traversing the grand piazzas and watching the ancient city come to life. A mecca for lovers and art enthusiasts, there are examples of romance and some of the world’s best architecture and sculpture around every corner. Stop for a cozy espresso with your spouse at one of the city’s charming cafes overlooking the Tiber River or overlooking one of the countless exhibitions of world-renowned religious architecture. Just before the Italian sun sets, rent a row boat and grace the surface of the lake in Villa Borghese.

After a romantic dinner of pasta and vino, take back to the streets and stroll with your sweetheart while admiring the soft lights glowing from the ancient ruins. Cross the entrancing Ponte Sisto (kissing bridge) before stopping to share your favorite flavor of gelato. End the evening with a visit to the Spanish Steps and sit front-row at a free concert from one of the many street performers who strategically place themselves throughout the tiny corridors along the way.
Before jetting off to begin your life as a couple, make one final stop atop Giancolo Hill where 180-degree views and lines of trees provide shade and stunning views from Rome’s own make-out point.
