If Christopher Columbus floats your boat or if Edmund Hillary piques your interest, then you’re probably one for the history podcast. With so much to learn about the past, you want to hear about it from people who not only know what they’re talking about, but also make it interesting to listen to.

Your first port of call should be the “Stuff You Missed In History” podcast, run by hosts Tracy and Holly who share a passion for stories, science and, of course, history. Lasting just more than half an hour, each podcast covers wonderfully obscure themes such as when the Victorians suffered from being exposed to too much horse poop to how knitting came to be.

If stories are what you’re after, then tune into “Snap Judgment.” This podcast is replete with tales from ordinary folks with extraordinary, strange or painful experiences. Get ready to shed those tears, though, as these can get emotional.

Finally, “BackStory” is a public radio program that takes present-day events and delves into the historical roots. Three highly revered U.S. historians host each hour-long show along with guest callers and fellow historians, bringing you a detailed insight into the past filled with wit and banter.

Platform Helps Remote Workers, Business Travelers Find Work-Friendly Hotels

If you’ve ever attempted to work on the go — not necessarily for a business trip, but just because your job offers the flexibility of remote working — you may have struggled with working from your hotel room. Your options are typically plugging your laptop in next to a tiny in-room table, if you’re lucky, or you’re stuck answering emails from your hotel bed — hardly conducive to productivity.
