Dirty Dancing is a favorite film for many. After all, no one puts Baby in a corner. And now, fans of the movie can recreate the most iconic moments and feel all the nostalgia at Mountain Lake Lodge in Virginia, the resort where the movie filmed 38 years ago. This is the first event of its kind. Open to the public and geared toward Dirty Dancing fans, this type of nostalgia is usually only reserved for the resort’s Dirty Dancing Weekends. The two Dirty Dancing-themed days run 3–11 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Saturday, and feature live performances from Cassette Rewind, Marcel Portilla Band, Riverside and Flashback, The Party Band; scavenger hunts; 1980s dress-up dance competitions; dance lessons in Mary’s Barn; watermelon races; a trivia contest; drink specials; themed merchandise; and screenings of the original film. Tickets to attend both days cost $75 per person.
Known as Kellerman’s Mountain House in the movie, Mountain Lake Lodge sits in the center of a 2,600-acre nature preserve and bird sanctuary in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
