Dubbed the “Machu Picchu of North America,” Chaco Canyon, also a UNESCO World Heritage site, boasts remarkably preserved ancestral architecture and buildings of the Chacoan people, a culture that lived from 830 A.D. to 1250 A.D. in the San Juan Basin. Part of Chaco Culture National Historic Park, the area is also an International Dark Sky National Park.
Guests of The Inn of The Five Graces stay at the property pre- and post- a one-night expedition under the stars hosted by Heritage Inspirations, the hotel’s tour operator partner. The guided tour of Chaco Canyon visits trace fossils, petroglyphs and remnants of Pueblo communities from more than 1,000 years ago. Accommodations include luxurious canvas tents with raised beds, memory foam mattresses, bedside tables, butterfly chairs, plush rugs and Southwest textiles. Multicourse meals are prepared by Chef Josh Willette.
