Entertainment

It’s no surprise that, as more and more entertainment seekers turn from traditional cable and satellite packages, other options like Netflix, Hulu and Sling become more and more popular. If you subscribe to several of these different services, a great way to keep all of them organized in one spot is with a Roku streaming stick.

All you have to do is pop the brightly colored purple stick into the HDMI drive on the back of your television and go. The remote that comes with the streaming stick is simple and easy to use — there are only a few buttons and they’re all pretty self-explanatory. In other words, perfect for the technophobe. When the streaming stick connects with your WiFi, you’ll be able to access more than 2,500 different streaming services, from the most popular television services such as Netflix and Showtime, to music playlists on Pandora and Vevo.

One of the best aspects of the Roku streaming stick is its ability to go with you wherever. The Hotel & Dorm Connect feature allows you to take the device on the go, using it wherever you have wireless Internet access. It’s great for accessing all of your favorite shows and movies when you’re traveling, whether just to a friend’s house or across the world.

All of the Roku players basically do the same thing, but the Roku streaming stick is typically your best value for the money, and works great for smart and wall-mounted TVs. If you don’t have a smart TV, the Roku 1 is probably the best option for you, while the Roku 2, Roku 3 and Roku 4 all offer nice extras such as high speeds, voice search, a remote finder and motion control for gaming.
