Nicknamed the Alaska of Europe due to its unspoiled nature and rough landscapes, Sarek National Park is home to an array of wildlife and breathtaking natural geography. Book a helicopter to see the Laitaure Delta and trek to the summit of mount Skierfe to overlook the scenic glacial valleys.

Trends / Top Trends

As spring and summer travel planning gets underway, future travelers are turning to Pinterest and other web sources for inspiration and recommendations of where to go, what to see and how to make the best of precious vacation time.

Based on data that collected information from searches on sites like Airbnb and Pinterest between January 2018 and March 2019, major travel trends for the upcoming seasons involve a great deal of nature-inspired experiences. Travelers are searching for destinations that take them out of cities and into nature, such as renting a cabin in the woods or camping in a national park or forest or taking part in meditation retreats that happen in remote locations.

Searches also surround activities and destinations that focus on sustainability. Data from Pinterest reveal inquiries for “sustainable travel” accounted for more than 56 percent of searches from users worldwide. Travelers are seeking “rural communities” and are considering helping out in places “recovering from natural disasters,” according to research collected from Airbnb searches.

A third nature-inspired trend involves adventure travel and adrenaline-pumping activities like cave diving and surfing, with searches that increased more than 693 percent for the spring and summer.
