Airport Gyms – How to Stay Fit

Staying fit while traveling isn’t a simple task. It’s far too easy when you’re on the move to eat out every day and skip the workouts, since there aren’t always gyms available or time to run. Some airports are trying to make your exercise routine a little more travel friendly by adding gyms to the terminals.

Pack a Gym Bag

If you’re going to utilize the airport gym, be sure to pack a bag. You should only need one change of clothes; just make sure it’s sealed well enough after the workout that you won’t stink up the plane. Also, shower afterwards.

Pay Up

Airport gyms are a little on the pricey side, ranging anywhere from $18–50 from what we’ve seen. It all depends on the amount of access you want and how long you’re going to need the machines. Come prepared!

Check for Discounts

Some airlines include gym memberships in their VIP areas, so you can get discounted rates by signing up. Otherwise, you might be stuck paying out the butt for those ridiculous fees each time you fly.

Make Your Own Gym

Of course, if you don’t want to pay for the airport gyms you can always use whatever’s handy. Turn the terminal lounges into benches for dips or just get to work doing push-ups as you wait to board the plane. Everybody’s only staring because you look so good.
