It’s never been easier to visit South Caicos of Turks and Caicos. The first-ever direct flight from the United States to South Caicos launches Feb. 15, 2025. American Airlines will operate this route from Miami twice weekly to improve accessibility to this island, bypassing the usual transfer through the main island of Providenciales.
Flights will operate on Wednesday and Saturday via an Embraer 175 aircraft, which holds up to 76 passengers and offers 12 first-class seats. Flights will leave Miami (MIA) at 10:05 a.m. and arrive in South Caicos at 12:27 p.m. Flights depart South Caicos at 1:44 p.m. and arrive in Miami at 3:55 p.m.
All of South Caicos prepares to welcome more travelers. Its airport (XSC) is currently undergoing extensive redevelopments, including constructing a new passenger terminal.
Resorts are also excited to show guests the beauty of South Caicos. Coinciding with the new American Airlines’ flight, Salterra Resort & Spa, part of the Marriott Bonvoy Luxury Collection, will open. This property will feature 100 guestrooms and suites, as well as six unique dining options and a full-service destination spa. Salterra Resort & Spa joins existing Sailrock Resort on the island, a premier resort and residential community along the beach.
This year, Turks and Caicos experienced record-breaking visitor growth in both air and cruise travel, and shows no signs of slowing.
