Arlo NoMad, in Midtown Manhattan, opened its NoMad Diner in May. Chef Fred Maurer helms the reimagined diner concept.

“When creating the menu for NoMad Diner, I wanted to redefine the traditional diner experience with a fresh approach to everyone’s favorite comfort dishes,” said Maurer, who drew inspiration from New York City’s vibrant neighborhoods and diverse culinary scene. “Marrying nostalgic diner dishes with innovative flavors and trends, we’re looking forward to delighting diners with modern takes they may not have expected, such as the Arlo Dog with kimchi and kewpie mayo, a nod to Koreatown just a few blocks away.”

Maurer’s award-winning career has taken him to restaurants including BKLYN Larder, Braeburn, Perilla and Bar Boulud. He is known for his charcuterie work, and has created a menu of “crave-able” classics in his role at NoMad Diner.

“We’re thrilled for guests and locals alike to experience the new and reimagined dining destination at Arlo NoMad,” said Fiona Hynes, corporate director of food and beverage, Arlo Hotels. “As an extension of the hotel, NoMad Diner will provide a much-needed respite from the hustle of the city, delivering an elevated dining experience for locals and travelers alike.”

Mixologist Megan Grauer created the signature cocktails on offer, including The Green Door, with honey vodka, pistachio orgeat, rosewater, orange blossom, lime and egg white; and Mr. Sandman, featuring mezcal, espresso syrup, orange and vanilla liqueur.

NoMad Diner also features the work of Los Angeles-based interdisciplinary artist Hayley Eichenbaum.
