What’s better than an ice cream festival? Probably a never-ending-samples ice cream festival — and that’s exactly what you’ll find in Hillsboro, Oregon, later this month at the Scooped! All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Festival, Aug. 31–Sept. 1.
Throughout the inaugural Labor Day weekend event, the city’s Wingspan Event & Conference Center will host a bevy of local and national brands serving up more than 50 varieties of ice cream, joined by food vendors, live music and family-friendly activities.
Tickets start at $30 and, yes, they really do come with unlimited ice cream samples. However, children under 5 years of age get into the event free, as do attendees who want to check out the photo ops and vendors, but don’t want to sample any ice cream. A skip-the-line-style Speed Scooper ticket is also available, starting at $45.
Want to get your ticket for free? Participate in the event’s Milkshake Throwdown. Over both days, contestants will go head-to-head, seeing who can drink the most milkshakes within a 30-minute time limit. Contestants must register in advance and be 18 years of age or older to participate, and competition registration comes with two free tickets.
