Barcelona’s international airport may stretch across two massive terminals, but navigating your way to, from and through the airport and its clearly labeled corridors is about as easy as anxiety-inducing air travel can get.

After landing at Barcelona-El Prat International Airport, approximately 30 minutes from Barcelona proper, there are a few quick transit options from the airport into the city. If lots of luggage is an issue, Aerobus is one of the best options in terms of convenience. Both single-trip and return tickets are available for purchase at the terminal, and buses run every five minutes directly to Plaça Catalunya in the center of the city. Spain’s RENFE train system also has a route that travels from the airport (after taking a bus from your terminal) to the center of Barcelona, but is slightly more of a hassle if you have baggage.

If you find yourself with a major flight delay, Barcelona-El Prat International Airport’s shopping options can keep you busy for hours. The spacious duty-free store sells Spanish favorites like wine, olive oil and recipe books, as well as the standard selection of fragrances and liquors.

Football fans can flock to FC Barcelona’s team store for jerseys, equipment and other team-themed memorabilia. For fashion mavens, Mango, Desigual and Zara all have stores in Terminal 1 and offer the season’s latest styles.

Don’t count on unlimited WiFi during a delay: The airport’s free WiFi service is only available for 30 minutes. If you’re searching for more minutes of connectivity, it’ll cost you.

Whether you have a quick layover or a few hours to kill before your departing flight, Barcelona-El Prat International Airport’s modern amenities and chic design and layout lend themselves to luxurious serenity.
