Tips / Travel

As long as there has been air travel, there have been layovers. Luckily, some airports managed to turn the dreaded layover into an amazing experience.

Changi Airport, Singapore

Let’s face it: Changi Airport is one of the best in the world. Not only is it one of the cleanest you’ll ever visit, but it’s packed with fun things to do. Explore art installations, shop local and international brands or dine in world-class restaurants. Check out the free, 24-hour movie theater, explore the rooftop garden or relax in the butterfly garden. You can also visit the swimming pool or the nearly 40-foot tall slide, the world’s largest in-airport slide.

Incheon Airport, South Korea

This airport is a popular stopover for many trips throughout Asia and the airport’s designers went to great lengths to make your stay memorable. Indoor gardens let you refresh and stretch your legs after a long flight. Watch a movie at one of the theaters, work out at the virtual gym or relax at the spa. The Nap Zone offers free and comfortable sofas to catch some zzz’s.

Dubai International Airport, United Arab Emirates

Like the city itself, the airport in Dubai goes big on luxury, excitement and entertainment. Buy gold, explore the world’s largest duty-free shop or work out at the gym. The Sleep ‘n Fly lounge offers Scandinavian-designed sleep pods to rest up if you’ve got the time.

Zürich Airport, Switzerland

This stopover is a great place to catch up on some rest. The airport offers rooms for rent that provide the quiet, comfort and privacy you need to refresh before you continue your journey. Once you’ve rested up, hit the restaurants and shops for local cuisine and some delicious Swiss chocolate.
