The Poconos in Pennsylvania is a great place to visit. There are many mountains available for hiking and most of them lead to great views of the area. It’s always a great time to visit the mountains because each season offers something different and unique. There are hikes available for skilled hikers and beginners and some even have guides.

One of the most popular trails in the Poconos is the Bushkill Falls trail. This area has been nicknamed the “Niagara of Pennsylvania,” because it has a series of eight waterfalls spread out among the network of trails. It’s a great place to take a relaxing hike and sit by a waterfall. All of the trails are clearly marked and there are always other people around. To see the most waterfalls in one place, take the Bridal Veil Falls trail.

Part of the Appalachian Trail cuts through the Pocono mountains. All together, it’s about 28 miles. While the number of miles may seem intimidating, the trail is famous for a reason and it’s a great opportunity to experience part of it.

The Promised Land State Park is more than 50 miles of gorgeous forest. This lesser-known park is also home to a natural glacial lake, found on the Bruce Lake Trail. It’s a great view and not one common to Pennsylvania. The rest of the park is equally as scenic and visitors will find a diverse amount of trees ranging from maple to hemlock.
