Find outdoor adventure and fewer crowds in Arkansas when you visit some of the states’ more than 50 state parks. All are free to visit and offer a wide variety of experiences, activities and landscapes.

At Murfreesboro’s Crater of Diamonds State Park, explore the park’s nearly 40-acre field where more than 35,000 diamonds have been found by visitors over the park’s history. Anything you find in the field is yours to keep. The site was once home to the largest diamond ever discovered in the United States, at more than 40 carats in size.
For views rather than diamonds, visit Pinnacle Mountain State Park in Roland. Take to the more than 33 miles of hiking trails and nearly 20 miles of mountain biking trails. The visitor center is newly home to a Loblolly handcrafted ice cream outpost.

You can also visit the historically significant Petit Jean State Park, the first state park in Arkansas. For an extended stay, book a canyon-view cabin. The park also offers campsites, a 100-acre lake and a historic lodge. The park is also a Trail of Tears National Historic Trail Site.
