Black Tomato Launches Platform Centered Around Emotions

Luxury travel operator Black Tomato recently unveiled The Pursuit of Feeling, a new platform redefining travel by focusing on the powerful emotions it evokes. With the company celebrating 20 years, it’s looking to get back to its founding philosophy: You may not know where you want to go, but you know how you want to feel. This new platform does just that.

The Pursuit of Feeling invites travelers to plan their travels and itineraries through an emotional lens while exploring five key emotional pillars to evoke feelings: Revitalized, Freedom, Distraction, Challenged and Contentment. These pillars were chosen to provide a wide variety of emotions reflecting the human experience while traveling, and each one represents universal desire; revitalization for physical and mental renewal, freedom to explore, distraction to help escape everyday life, challenge to get out of your comfort zone and try new experiences, and contentment to find inner peace. Together, these pillars offer a unique framework to help guests plan the ultimate trip to generate the emotions that come with travel.

Along with the pillars, the new platform focuses on four key elements:

The Feelings Engine

This innovation transforms how trips are planned by allowing travelers to describe how they want to feel while traveling in their own words. Afterwards, The Feelings Engine analyzes those feelings and searches Black Tomato’s database of curated experiences to suggest tailored recommendations reflecting travelers’ needs.

Century of Emotional Experiences

In the past, Black Tomato curated 100 unique experiences designed to align with the five pillars. Each experience curated by the company makes exploration and travel more engaging, thoughtful and meaningful.

Emotion-Driven Itineraries

To make the catalog even larger, Black Tomato adds five new immersive itineraries designed around the emotional pillars. This includes destinations such as India, Chile, Mongolia, Greenland and Greece.
