Booking.com recently revealed its list of 2025 travel predictions. Nine distinct trends dominate the 2025 travel scene.
Noctourism
Travelers look toward space- and nocturnal-focused tourism. More than half of those polled expressed interest in visiting a dark-sky park. Other celestial events ranked high for 2025 travel.
Longevity
Sixty percent of travelers are interested in a longevity retreat, with a focus on wellness activities intended to extend their lifespan.
AI: Alternative Itineraries
With AI fully in the conversation, more than two-thirds of travelers plan to use AI technologies in planning alternative itineraries.
Multigen Megatrips
Older travelers will book the trip of a lifetime for the family instead of saving their money. Grandparents plan to finance the SKI trips (Spending Kids’ Inheritance) for their entire brood.
Updated Guys’ Trips
Guys’ trips will increasingly focus on wellbeing over booze, with male travelers expressing interest in trips geared toward friendship-building.
Ageless Travel
Older travelers show interest in adventurous activities while traveling, from horseback riding and hiking to camping and skydiving.
Neurodivergent Travel
Many neurodivergent travelers will use AI tools to make their experience more inclusive. Sixty-eight percent will seek out sensory room offerings in airports and hotels.
Vintage Vacation
This trend reconsiders how to pack for a trip. More than half of travelers polled said they would buy their vacation wardrobe at a thrift store during their stay.
Destination: Airport
Travelers will consider travel to a destination based on the airport’s offerings. Millennial and Gen Z will fuel this trend.
In addition, Booking.com announced 2025’s trending destinations, with places in China, Italy, Spain, the United States and other countries on the list. Visit the website for more information on methodology.
