Getting to the heart of the electric city of Marrakech, Morocco, is as easy as Kif Kif.
The cozy corner café encompasses three levels and is situated a short walk from the city’s central square (Jemaa el Fna). Within view is the towering Koutoubia minaret, Marrakech’s highest minaret that rises above the Koutoubia mosque.
A cheerful French owner welcomes patrons to his tri-level paradise where bamboo, straw hats and plentiful plants evoke a tropical feeling in the center of Marrakesh. Climb to the third floor for the outdoor patio and sip mint tea as you watch the sunset.
The “Franco-Moroccan” menu at Kif Kif is local but familiar, chock full of seasonal ingredients that don’t travel very far from origin to plate. Traditional Moroccan tagines are offered in a few varieties: chicken, lamb, kafta (meatballs) and even sardines. Each of these dishes is also available as an entrée with couscous, served in the Moroccan triangular clay pots. Alternatively, go Western with the Kif Kif burger, chicken burger or fish burger, all with a side of fries.
Vegetarians can find solace in the trio of Moroccan salads, vegetarian couscous, vegetarian tagine and vegetarian pastry pies.
As with most dining establishments in Morocco, alcohol is not part of the menu, but you can order a virgin mojito or alcohol-free beer to complement your meal.

A new study from Cruisebound shows more millennials are cruising, as the average age of cruisers trends downward. The study discovered the largest portion of cruisers are ages 25 to 44, making up 45 percent of all cruise bookers. Seniors, aged 55 and up, currently only account for 26 percent of cruise bookers. The platform theorizes this trend in younger cruisers is brought about by cruise lines’ increasing offering of family-friendly experiences and shorter cruises that can be enjoyed over a long weekend.
