“We are thrilled to bring the Canopy brand to New Orleans and provide guests with a refreshing hotel option that matches the city’s energetic atmosphere and culture,” said Phil Cordell, global brand head, Canopy by Hilton and category head, Hilton Lifestyle Brands. “The hotel’s design, as well as curated food and beverage concepts were influenced by the surrounding area, allowing us to authentically connect guests with the neighborhood made famous for its lively architecture, music and cuisine.”

The property is located near the French Quarter, in the renovated former Oil and Gas Building. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. Guests enjoy city skyline views from all guestrooms, as well as a complimentary Canopy bike to explore the city. The property boasts 1,700 square feet of meeting space, including private patio access.

New Orleans is known as a culinary hub, and the hotel pays homage to its location in what used to be the Chinatown district, with its on-site Ginger Roux restaurant. The Creole-Cantonese-inspired concept draws from New Orleans’ culinary traditions, adding a Cantonese twist. Expect to see dishes including crawfish étouffée shumai and gumbo dumplings. The hotel bar, The Herbalist, offers cocktails as well as breakfast options earlier in the day.

The property will also participate in the Hilton Honors loyalty program.
