If you love chocolate and cruises, you’re in luck. Princess Cruises, a global cruise and tour company, introduced what they claim is an “industry-first premium chocolate experience” on their 18 ships. Guests will enjoy custom-crafted desserts; chocolate and wine pairings; and chocolate bites created by internationally acclaimed master chocolatier and pastry designer Norman Love.
Princess Cruises will debut Love’s chocolates this fall aboard the new Regal Princess, in time for her inaugural Caribbean season. The rest of the Princess fleet will join in the chocolate love next year.
Some of the new chocolate experiences guests can enjoy include:
- Decadent Desserts – Princess Cruises rotate 15 desserts designed by Love in the ships’ main dining rooms, specialty restaurants and Chef’s Table experience. Examples of the desserts include a chocolate tart with vanilla mousse and flourless chocolate cake; chocolate pistachio dome with almond and pistachio nougatine; and a chocolate tiramisu with mascarpone cream and espresso gelato. (Complimentary in main dining rooms. Specialty restaurants carry a cover charge.)
- Chocolate and Wine Pairings – In Vines, Princess’ signature wine bar, guests can sample the Black Single Origin Dark chocolates paired with specific wines selected by Love. (Extra charge)
- Captain’s Welcome Reception Treats – A “Chocolate Love Pop,” truffles created by Love, will be served with a glass of champagne at the welcome reception. (Complimentary)
- Chocolate Libations – Throughout the ships’ lounges and bars, guests can splurge on chocolate drinks including a chocolate salted caramel hard shake, chocolate bacon bourbon bliss or a chocolate chile margarita. (Extra charge)
- Chocolate Dessert Demonstrations – Pastry chefs will offer demonstrations with simple tips for creating tasty chocolate treats back home. (Complimentary)
- Chocolate Spa Treatments – Guests can enjoy a Chocolate Indulgence Body Treatment combining a chocolate renewal scrub, whipped chocolate body mask and chocolate massage oil at Lotus Spa. (Extra charge)
