Miami isn’t all South Beach luxury. While Space and Icon offer VIP areas and bottle service, be sure to check out one of Miami’s many underground dance venues.

Bardot

This Wynwood club features a large range of tastefully curated music, housed in what looks like a large living room decorated with vintage art. Past headliners include Crystal Fighters, Alex Metric and Four Tet.

Electric Pickle

This small venue can hold just about 300 people in two rooms and a patio, making for an intimate club night powered by a custom Dynacord sound system. It’s known for house and techno, but there’s also an occasional live performer on the marquee once in a while.

Treehouse

Despite its location on South Beach, owner Gregory Selph takes pride in creating “a real venue for real people” with no velvet ropes or bottle service.

Space Miami

Open for more than 10 years, Space Miami has gone through several changes while operating on a rare 24-hour liquor license. The sound is incredibly varied, ranging from techno stalwarts to A-list rappers.

Do Not Sit on the Furniture

Created by the same people behind Electric Pickle, this intimate, sparsely decorated club eschews VIP service and mainstream EDM for headliners like Nick Warren and Leftroom Records.

Icon

Icon has big shoes to fill after moving into the space formerly occupied by Mansion. After a star-studded opening month in January, the historic 30,000-square-foot venue continues its predecessor’s tradition as a watering hole for international celebrities.
