Want to get more in the spirit (pun intended) for the World Cup? Buchanan’s Scotch Whisky recently concocted some cocktail recipes inspired by different Latin American World Cup teams. Find the country you’re rooting for or the cocktail that appeals to you most to enjoy when watching the next round of matches.
Brazil – Bucharinhia
1 ½ ounces Buchanan’s DeLuxe
3 lime wedges
½ teaspoon sugar
Place lime and sugar into glass and muddle two ingredients together. Fill glass with cracked or crushed ice and add Buchanan’s.
Costa Rica – Bucofee
1 ¼ ounces Buchanan’s DeLuxe
½ ounce coffee liqueur
2 ounces Costa Rican coffee cold brew
2 dashes orange bitters
Add ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into coupe glass. Garnish with three coffee beans and orange peel.
Argentina – Buchandito
1 ½ ounces Buchanan’s DeLuxe
½ ounce fernet
½ ounce lime juice
3 ounces cola
Add ingredients into highball, ice-filled glass and stir. Garnish with lime wheel.
Mexico – Buchanan’s Margarita
1 ¼ ounces Buchanan’s DeLuxe
½ ounce orange liqueur
¾ ounce agave syrup
½ ounce fresh lime juice
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
Add ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into glass and garnish with dehydrated lime wheel.
Ecuador – Buchanelazo
1 ½ ounces Buchanan’s DeLuxe
4 ounces hot cinnamon tea
1 tablespoon brown sugar
¼ ounce lemon juice
To make the tea, boil a cup of water with three cinnamon sticks for 15 minutes. Dissolve brown sugar and add lemon juice in the boiling cinnamon tea. Pour Buchanan’s in glass and pour tea over. Garnish with lemon wheel and cinnamon stick.
Uruguay – Bushandy
1 ¼ ounces Buchanan’s
¾ ounce white wine syrup
¾ ounce lemon juice
3 ounces Pilsen
To make white wine syrup, slowly blend one cup of dry, white wine and one cup of sugar in a blender. Add all ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice and garnish with lime wheel.
