Originally appropriated from Holi — a Hindu festival during which people sing, dance and use colored powder and water to cover each other in a rainbow of colors — paint races have become popular in different parts of the world. Paint races are five-kilometer runs during which runners are blasted with color. The race is usually followed with a dance party with even more color throwing. Here are four races where you can get a run in, spread some color and party.

Color Vibe

This 5K race takes place in multiple cities around the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. The regular registration price is $44 for adults, free for kids; teams of six or more can get a discount of $5 per person. Each registration includes a color packet and a white T-shirt.

Color Me Rad

Color Me Rad runs happen in the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Australia, the United Kingdom and several European countries. Normal registration is $52, which includes parking, a Zumba warm-up, a T-shirt, color bombs, sunglasses and a Rad tattoo.

Color in Motion

Color in Motion runs can be found all over the United States and regular registration costs $50. The packet includes a T-shirt, bracelet and color packet.

Color and Glow

Color and Glow is different from a lot of other 5K paint races in that it happens at night. Runners get covered in glow paint at glow zones and party the night away after the race is done. The full registration price is $55 and includes a T-shirt and glow gear.

Most paint races offer big discounts for early registration and have extra color packets and lots of swag available for purchase. And since they happen all over the world, they make a great, unique experience to add to any trip.

Where to Find the Best Stargazing Spots in Ireland

This year, the Northern Lights put on quite the display across Ireland, but don’t think these lights are the only thing you can see in Ireland. In fact, many spots across the country provide some of the best opportunities to stargaze thanks to low levels of light pollution. Ireland has three International Dark Sky Parks and even more spots which, although not accredited, are worth a visit for anyone wishing to see the sky in its unfiltered form.
