Restaurant

Miami’s first pasta bar will soon open in the Wynwood neighborhood. Otto & Pepe specializes in pasta and natty wine, with a menu crafted by Italian chef Viviana Varese, renowned for her Michelin-starred restaurants in Milan and other parts of Italy.

Featuring an intimate wine enoteca, 28-person pasta bar and an enchanting garden, Otto & Pepe draws inspiration from European cuisine and Miami’s vibrant energy. The restaurant is brought to life by two hand-drawn characters: Otto is a playful pasta, while Pepe is a mischievous wine bottle.

Wine selections (available for takeout or dine-in) is curated by Miami local and wine veteran Karina Iglesias, offering a comprehensive list of wines with an emphasis on Italy’s diverse regions, complemented by choices from France and Spain.

The main room bridges the three spaces and presents a front-row seat to the alchemy of pasta-making. Choose from four categories: Red Sauce Pasta, White Sauce Pasta, More Pasta and Not Pasta, with house-made classics like Doppio Pomodoro, Carbonara and Cacio e Pepe. There’s also unique gems like Zuppa di Patate e Basilico and Raviolo Grande Spinach e Uovo.

In addition to an extensive wine list, Otto & Pepe also offers a beverage menu full of innovative cocktails. Think truffle Negroni, strawberry-balsamic spritz, and orange and macadamia mimosa. The restaurant didn’t forget about the classics either, with spritzes and negronis also available.

The restaurant is open Monday–Sunday, 5 p.m.–1 a.m.

Study Shows More Millennials Are Cruising

A new study from Cruisebound shows more millennials are cruising, as the average age of cruisers trends downward. The study discovered the largest portion of cruisers are ages 25 to 44, making up 45 percent of all cruise bookers. Seniors, aged 55 and up, currently only account for 26 percent of cruise bookers. The platform theorizes this trend in younger cruisers is brought about by cruise lines’ increasing offering of family-friendly experiences and shorter cruises that can be enjoyed over a long weekend.
