Kickstarter has become a breeding ground of novel solutions to everyday problems. The latest invention to come out of the crowd-funding site isthe Seatylock, a bike seat that doubles as a lock when you park your bike.
Urban bike riders know the dilemma. Parking on the street means you need to lock up your bike, but who wants to be bothered carrying around a heavy-duty lock? Furthermore, bike saddles are a common target of thieves, so what is to be done? The answer lies in the Seatylock, a bike seat that has a three-foot articulating bar lock.
The Seatylock can fit on any bike thanks to the included aluminum adaptor. A quick-release bracket releases the seat, revealing the plastic-coated hardened steel lock that wraps around your frame and adjacent object, locked with a key.
The product comes in two sizes, a smaller one designed for trekking and a larger one for comfort. Riders have the option of swapping your own saddle, which is great for cycling enthusiasts who are particular about their saddle. The Seatylock also comes in a variety of colors, guaranteed to match your frame’s style.
