My trip to Manassas, Va., for business was an enjoyable one, made all the more possible by the conveniently placed Courtyard Manassas Battlefield Park. My three-night stay was my first experience with this member of the Marriott family, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well suited the affordable property is to business travelers.
Check-in was easy and quick, with the helpful front desk staff pointing me to my room on the second floor. I found my guestroom — outfitted with a king-sized bed, sofa and small desk area — clean, pleasantly decorated and a comfortable size for a single traveler. A small balcony with seating was accessible via a sliding glass door, but I didn’t make use of this feature during my trip.
Downstairs, the open lobby leads into The Bistro with plenty of seating for groups of any size. The windows overlook a manicured garden and patio, and there’s a nice mix of social and quiet space, whether guests want to watch a game on the lobby television or chat on one of the several comfortable couches scattered throughout.
The Bistro offers quick breakfast options in the morning and a much-needed Starbucks, as well as cocktails, wine and beer. I didn’t have the chance to try the Bistro menu, but the selection of light salads, sandwiches and desserts was tempting.
The property offers two event and meeting spaces, which hold up to 40. My group used one for a brief time during our stay and there were no complaints.
The convenient location is a plus, given the hotel’s proximity to several of the region’s historic attractions, which I consider the area’s best draw.
Overall, I was impressed by the comfort and convenience provided by the Courtyard brand combined with my stay’s affordability. It’s an excellent choice for business and budget travelers alike.
