Health & Wellness

Spend your next vacation staying fit with burpees, ring dips, handstand push-ups and snatches on a CrossFit-inspired vacation in beautiful destinations around the world.

Though many CrossFit affiliates all over the globe welcome visitors to take part in the location’s workout of the day (WOD), specific companies cater to CrossFit junkies and those with a passion for fitness and adventure with vacations focusing on workouts, skills competitions, seminars and coaching sessions.

San Francisco-based Destino Retreats offers trips for groups of 10 to 12 people to four destinations: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Scottsdale, Ariz.; Mammoth, Calif.; and Maui, Hawaii. Vacations include overnight accommodations in 4-star lodging, two workouts per day, competitive challenges, skill sessions, two to three Paleo meals per day and organized group activities.

Australian-based WOD Tours provides coaching sessions with Olympic athletes, seminars with the world’s best CrossFit coaches, plenty of training sessions, overnight accommodations in 3- or 4-star hotels and breakfast. Upcoming tours this year are taking place in locations in Europe and Korea.

Organized by local CrossFit Admundson, WODcation is a five- or seven-day vacation in Santa Cruz, Calif., offered three times each year for groups of two to five people. The trip’s workouts include unlimited weekly enrollment at CrossFit Admundson; group workouts at CrossFit Santa Cruz, CrossFit Santa Cruz Central and CrossFit West San Cruz; outdoor workouts at the famous Seacliff State Beach wooden stairs and University of California Santa Cruz outdoor track; and two private classes. Two meals per day are included as well as overnight accommodations in a beach house.

Where to Find the Best Stargazing Spots in Ireland

In fact, many spots across the country provide some of the best opportunities to stargaze thanks to low levels of light pollution. Ireland has three International Dark Sky Parks and even more spots which, although not accredited, are worth a visit for anyone wishing to see the sky in its unfiltered form.
