Daytona Beach International Airport launched a Wish You Were Here photo contest, welcoming participants to upload a postcard-worthy image of Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach or West Volusia on the contest website, or through Instagram or Twitter, with #FlyDABSummer. The grand prize includes two airline tickets to Daytona Beach and a weekend stay at Max Beach Resort. The photos will also be featured on complimentary postcards offered to airport travelers.
“It’s no secret that technology is a huge part of everyone’s life from text messaging and emails, to social media and video calls,” said Joanne Magley, airport manager of air service, marketing and customer experience, Daytona Beach International Airport. “This is why we were pleasantly surprised at the popularity of our postcard program in the airport. The positive response ultimately gave us the idea to merge technology with nostalgia and get our travelers involved in submitting photos to be used on the postcards.”
Earlier in 2022, DAB placed complimentary postcards with images from popular destinations all around the surrounding area at Junction Daytona Beach bars and restaurants and at information stations in the airport. In the airport concourse, passengers could drop their cards to be stamped and mailed by the airport’s Customer Experience team. Following the success of this initiative, DAB launched the current photo contest.
The contest ends Aug. 19, with voting through Sept. 2. Four winners will be announced Sept. 6. Enter once per day.
