A cherished staple in many American households, the beloved Danish butter cookie tin has become synonymous with tasty treats and, later, a container for sewing kits or keepsakes. Evoking nostalgia, this classic blue tin captures the essence of Denmark with idyllic images of thatched roofs and half-timbered houses.
To celebrate this iconic tin, Copenhagen invites people to showcase their own creative repurposing of it for a chance to win a trip to experience the city’s vibrant cultural scene firsthand. To enter, simply share your creative use of the tin on Instagram or Facebook using #tintocph and tagging @VisitCopenhagen.
The lucky winner receives round-trip tickets for two adults for four nights at Nimb Hotel in Tivoli Gardens, a dining experience at Michelin-rated Alchemist, and city passes to the city’s more than 80 museums and attractions. The winner also enjoys free public transportation through the Capital Region, including to and from Copenhagen Airport.
Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and storytelling. Submissions are due Nov. 22, with the winning trip slated for March 2025. The A Butter Place Awaits – Visit Copenhagen competition is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C. (excluding Arizona, Colorado, Maryland and North Dakota), the United Kingdom, and European Union.
