Spring break is just around the corner and with a little planning and forethought, it could be the best one ever. The always popular Cancun and Daytona Beach are overcrowded and over done, so for those more interested in the trip less traveled, there are many options not on every spring breaker’s radar.

Nashville, Tenn., is an amazing place for culture, music and as many low-key bars as the eye can see, most within walking distance. The famous Bluebird Café is a piece of music history as well as a great place to drink and hear local musicians. For more of a walk through time, visitors can tour beautiful plantations scattered all over the state.

Another great destination for spring breakers would be Austin, Texas, especially for music and film fans. With great weather most of the year-round and South by Southwest scheduled conveniently in March, there will be more music and film activities than one person can handle. The unofficial city motto Keep Austin Weird is definitely a fair warning for those who want a unique and eclectic vacation experience.

For those determined to use their passport and hit the beach, check out Tulum, Mexico. With amazing Mayan ruins, ancient Temples, whitesand and turquoise Caribbean water this destination may be the best of both worlds. A unique, one-of-a-kind spring break experience with an amazing seat on the beach, the Yucatan Peninsula may have it all.
