Salmon is a versatile seafood. It can be cooked and prepped in many different ways with a variety of foods to make the outcome different. It’s also a healthy fish to consume, so learning the many ways the fish can be prepared will give people many healthy dish options for future meals. In addition, salmon is not difficult to cook and even beginners can manage to cook it without burning it or undercooking. Salmon pairs well with side dishes such as asparagus and potatoes. Sometimes the side dish can be cooked alongside the salmon.

Some of the ways to prepare and cook salmon are poaching, grilling and baking. For poaching salmon, make sure not to overcook the fish. Poaching is a great way to cook salmon because it comes out light and fresh tasting. To poach the salmon, you boil liquid and then reduce it to a simmer; once the liquid is simmering, the salmon can be added. When the salmon is finished being poached it should be a light pink color all the way through.

Grilling salmon is a great way to bring out the flavors of the fish. Grilling in general makes food flavorful and salmon is no exception. It does not take long to cook salmon on a grill or a gas stove; it should take no longer than four to six minutes for each side and the same applies for a charcoal grill.
