Restaurant

Located in the heart of the Jersey shore town of Wildwood, Dogtooth Bar and Grill has become a favorite eatery among both locals and visitors, featuring a comfortable atmosphere, friendly service and a covered patio in warmer months.

I recently visited on a cold weekend when the seaside town was void of large crowds of vacationers. While most of the city’s popular eateries are closed up for the winter, Dogtooth stays open, attracting plenty of diners even on the coldest days.

Entrée choices for my table consisted of the buffalo chop chop salad and an avocado BLT with fresh tuna salad. The salad never disappoints, featuring fresh iceberg lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, red onions and crispy buffalo chicken topped with melt-in-your-mouth bleu cheese crumbles and creamy bleu cheese dressing. The avocado BLT is always a favorite as well, with fresh avocado, perfectly spicy chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato and crunchy bacon served with chips and a pickle.

The servings are ample, featuring enough food to split and share with fellow diners for a light lunch. With a visit to Cape May Brewery up next on our schedule, we decided not to order drinks, but the restaurant’s extensive craft beer menu was tempting, including local brews from New Jersey and Philadelphia, as well as classics like Sam Adams and Blue Moon.

Dogtooth also features a wide variety of events to enjoy year-round, including live music in the evenings from popular local bands.
