Destinations / Europe

Planning a late-summer trip to Europe? If you’re dreaming of sunny days spent hopping from museum to museum, taking immersive walking or cycling tours, or even lying on the beach as you stare out at the nearest body of water, you might want to avoid certain destinations. Throughout summer, particular European cities are bound to look a little grayer and gloomier more often than not, with about a one in three chance of waking up to rainfall out your hotel room window.

To help you avoid these destinations, casino.ca recently conducted a study to uncover which European cities get the most rainfall, on average, June–August. The platform found, out of all 150 European destinations compared in the study, Vaduz, Liechtenstein, is the rainiest during the summer, getting about 49 rainy days, June–August.

The capital of Liechtenstein, though, might not be at the top of your travel bucket list. However, several bucket list-worthy destinations are still within the top 10 rainiest destinations in Europe for a late-summer trip. These include, after Vaduz, in descending order of rainiest to least rainy, Bergen, Norway; Sochi, Russia; Geneva, Switzerland; Oslo, Norway; Zürich, Switzerland; Andorra la Vella, Andorra; Krakow, Poland; Kirklees, United Kingdom; and Glasgow, United Kingdom.
