Sometimes Call of Duty just doesn’t cut it and you need the real thing. Drive a Tank, based in Kasota, Minn., lets participants fulfill their action movie fantasies and get behind the wheel of a real military vehicle.
There are four packages available, starting at $399. The new Sherman Driver package is the only place where you can drive a Sherman Easy 8 tank. Packages include a history and safety presentation, shooting time on a real machine gun and the opportunity to drive a tank and even crush a car. There are add-ons available for all packages for things like bringing passengers along and adding more cars to crush.
Drive a Tank’s fleet of vehicles include Chieftain MK10, exclusively for car crushes; a Russian T-55, which is available in the 5-Star package; an FV433 Self-Propelled Gun (technically not a tank) for the 3-star package; and an FV432 Armoured Personnel Carrier complete with periscope. Participants also have access to a variety of assault rifles and machine guns, including a .50 caliber Browning M2.
