Thurston County boasts a wide variety of food trucks serving all sorts of fare, from South Indian-American cuisine like curries, wraps and salads at Akashic Food Trailer to authentic Venezuelan delicacies at Arepa Latin Street Food. In Olympia’s Westside neighborhood, you’ll find Olympita Food Truck, serving Middle Eastern street food like shawarma, falafel and hummus. Fans of brunch can’t miss Honeycuspe, where sweet and savory waffles and coffee await.

Enjoy a coffee, craft brew or fresh wine at any number of locally owned and sourced establishments. Consider Ebony & Ivory Coffee, a modern coffee shop, or visit The Shiplap Shop & Coffee House to enjoy handcrafted espresso drinks and baked goods while shopping consigned items from more than 100 local artisans. Beer lovers must make time to try local brews at Axis Meads, The Cider Barrel, Heritage Distilling Company and Talking Cedar Brewery & Distillery, among many others. Monterey Beach Hotel Now Open

Monterey Beach Hotel, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio Hotel, has officially debuted. Built in 1967, the hotel has reopened under its original name, but following a significant renovation and rebranding effort. It is also the only beachfront hotel in the Monterey Peninsula, with more than 600 linear feet of exclusive shoreline. The 192 guestrooms and four suites join meeting and event spaces and culinary outlets.
