George Town Cruising Regatta
This annual sailing event takes place Feb. 19–March 4. In addition to sailing, take part in a conch-blowing contest, scavenger hunt, softball competition and variety show.
March
Bahamian Music and Heritage Festival
The 19th annual festival takes place in Exuma, March 14–15. This year’s theme is Bahamian Rhythms and Flavors. The cultural event showcases Bahamian musicians.
April
Held April 17–20, this event offers Bahamian cuisine, music and beach parties. It’s Bimini’s biggest domestic event of the year.
May
The Custom Shootout Fishing Tournament
This prestigious event celebrates the craftsmanship of custom sport fishing boats. Held in Abaco, this year’s event takes place May 14–17.
June
36th Annual Pineapple Festival
Eleuthera is home to the sweetest pineapples in The Bahamas. Celebrate all things pineapple June 6–7 with food, drinks and crafts.
July
Inagua Heritage & Salty Festival
Held July 31–Aug. 5, this family-friendly event features a full lineup of exciting entertainment including live music, games, demonstrations, tours, food and drinks, and a fireworks display.
August
Rolleville Homecoming and Regatta
One of the oldest regattas in The Bahamas takes place Aug. 1–4 in Exuma. The event also hosts unique cultural games.
September
Hearts of Heritage Program
Held Sept. 13, this event focuses on educating participants while cleaning key heritage sites in San Salvador.
October
BNT Wine & Arts Festival
This unique event in New Providence features more than 40 artists and vendors selling original pieces. Enjoy local cuisine and more than 60 wines.
November
Governor’s Harbour Homecoming
Enjoy live entertainment, cultural activities and local cuisine, all to benefit the Eleuthera community. The event will be held Nov. 5–10.
December
Boxing Day Junkanoo Parade
Celebrate Boxing Day at this popular parade and celebration. Traditional musical instruments and costumes highlight the cultural heritage of The Bahamas.

A new study from Cruisebound shows more millennials are cruising, as the average age of cruisers trends downward. The study discovered the largest portion of cruisers are ages 25 to 44, making up 45 percent of all cruise bookers. Seniors, aged 55 and up, currently only account for 26 percent of cruise bookers. The platform theorizes this trend in younger cruisers is brought about by cruise lines’ increasing offering of family-friendly experiences and shorter cruises that can be enjoyed over a long weekend.
