Experience Amsterdam’s most popular museums at this year’s Museum Night Amsterdam. On Nov. 7, about 50 of the city’s museums open their doors from 7 p.m.–2 a.m., hosting special events, workshops, concerts, speakers, exclusive tours and performances. Last year’s event drew 32,000 visitors. The event takes place the first Saturday of November every year.
In its 16th year, Museum Night Amsterdam encourages young people to experience and appreciate the city’s cultural heritage. About 75 percent of visitors are in the 18–35 age group.
Participating museums include the Rijksmuseum, Tropenmuseum, Foam, Science Center NEMO, Artis Royal Zoo, Jewish Historical Museum and Amsterdam Museum. When the night winds down, Amsterdam’s clubs and hotels stay open for exciting after-parties.
A ticket gains entrance to all participating museums and parties organized to celebrate Museum Night. Tickets cost about $20 and go on sale starting in October. Buy your tickets soon as the event annually sells out. Due to the location of the museum, riding a bicycle might be the best mode of transportation.
For up-to-date information about scheduled events, follow Museum Night on Facebook and Twitter.

Insta FeedAre You Ready for the Final Switch to Real ID?
Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
